Programme Details:
Enjoy the British Summer
and Improve Your English
The summer course consists of twenty
classroom hours per week, of which fifteen hours are devoted to the teaching of
English as a foreign language and five hours to sessions on British culture and
history. There is a maximum of twelve students per class. We assess the level
of each student's English by test and interview on the first Monday of the
course. Based on this evaluation, the student is allocated to an appropriate
level of class.
All teaching material is provided to the students, who also have access to the
Internet facilities. During the fifteen hours of English language teaching, the
focus is on the practical application of the English language, in speaking and
listening. The class teacher and the Director of Studies monitor each
individual student's progress and give assistance on individual learning
problems. During the five hours per week on British culture, we provide
sessions on British history, literature, politics, current affairs and way of
life.
A typical
study day will consist of the following:
·
Students have
breakfast and arrive to college by 9:00.
·
They attend class
for 3-4 hours with a 20 minute break in between.
·
They would then
have Lunch at the college or outside.
·
They would then
go out for British culture activities like visiting museums, art places, local
sight-seeing places like London Bridge, Big Ben
Tower, London Eye, etc.
·
They would return
back to their accommodation by about 19:00
and then have dinner (if dinner is outside, they would return by about 20:00)
·
Then they would
prepare some notes for the day and spend some time with each other and go to
sleep.
A typical
weekend will involve outing to places of attraction in London and outside like Theme Parks, Safari
Parks and Zoo’s, Sea-sides, Popular Attractions in UK like the Stone Henge, Garden of Eden, Windsor Castle, etc.
Students
would return early on Sunday so they can get some rest before they start study
